I N T R O D U C T I O N Credit-based flow control management schemes are becoming increasingly popular in high-speed networks that span a local area. Fibre Channel [1], the technology used to realize storage area networks, employs credit-based methods for both end-to-end and link-level flow control. Creditbased methods are also used for link-level and end-to-end flow in InfiniBand [2], a new system area network technology for interconnecting processors, IO nodes, controllers, and adapters. Creditbased virtual circuit flow control has also been proposed as an efficient means of implementing flow-controlled ATM networks [3]. Credit-based flow control management operates as follows. Before the sender transmits packets, it receives credits from the receiving node. Credits sent by the receiving or destination node indicate the availability of buffer space at the receiver. Capacity planning in the hospital queueing network with blocking: simulation-based optimization approach
Introduction: Hospital administrators have always faced the challenge of providing the best possible health services in a resource-limited environment. The patient flow throughout the hospital is affected by lack of the capacities that can lead to bed-blocking among the hospital units. In this research, the patient flow in the hospital is modeled as an open queueing network with blocking. Then,...
متن کاملAnalysis and Dimensioning of Credit-based Flow Control for the Abr Service in Atm Networks
ATM networks have shown to reveal difficulties in simultaneously guaranteeing the requested Quality-of-Service while efficiently utilizing all the available bandwidth for economic reasons. The ABR (available bit rate) service class was designed to fill the gap of bandwidth with less delay but loss sensitive traffic. Due to the bursty nature of higher-priority traffic and the resulting bandwidth...
متن کاملThe Comparison of Credit Risk between Artificial Neural Network and Logistic Regression Models in Tose-Taavon Bank in Guilan
One of the most important issues always facing banks and financial institutes is the issue of credit risk or the possibility of failure in the fulfillment of obligations by applicants who are receiving credit facilities. The considerable number of banks’ delayed loan payments all around the world shows the importance of this issue and the necessary consideration of this topic. Accordingly...
متن کاملZero Queueing Flow Control and Applications
Zero Queueing Flow Control (ZQFC) is a new credit-based flow control method for ATM networks. The receiving node of such a flow-controlled link will have zero queue-occupancy in the steady state. ZQFC uses both link and VC flow control simultaneously over the link to implement the required rate adaptation for achieving zero queueing. Because of its zero queueing property, ZQFC is able to solve ...
متن کاملA Framework of Flow Control in High-speed Atm Wide Area Networks
In this paper, we propose a two-layer framework of jlow control in high-speed A TM wide area networks. At the upper layer of network level, we classify trafic into two categories, delaysensitive and delay-insensitive. With the advancement of perVC queueing in ATM switch design, we propose peak-rate allocation and therefore no jlow control for delay-sensitive traffic, and hop-by-hop credit-based...
